The programme for the 27th AUGIS Annual Scientific Meeting will take place over three days, from Wednesday 11 - Friday 13 September 2024.
Wednesday 11 September
On the Wednesday morning, we will be holding our sessions for Allied Health Professionals and CNS' and for trainees, the Roux Group will be holding the Roux Group Training Morning. The main meeting will then commence at 1.15pm on with plenary sessions on the High Functioning Team, Cholecystectomy Controversies and Dealing with Adversity. We are also really excited to be launching our AUGIS Legacy Project at the Bridgewater Hall.
Thursday 12 September
The day kicks off at 8am with our Meet the Experts Sessions for the various sub-specialties and then the day continues with parallel sessions for Benign OG, OG Cancer, Bariatrics, HPB along with a session for Medical Student Presentations and Video Presentations.. Our Parallel Free Paper sessions will also be taking place on Thursday along with the Short Oral Presentations over the lunch break.
- The main Auditorium will see a combined session with OG Cancer & Benign OG, followed by the Benign Parallel Sessions
- The Barbirolli Room will include morning Bariatric sessions followed by OG Cancer sessions
- The Derby Room at the Midland Hotel will host the HPB Parallel session throughout the day
Friday 13 September
We are holding Career Forums in the morning from 8am, so if you are a Consultant, Trainee, SAS, IMG for an Allied Health Professional, you will find a forum for you.
Our AUGIS Prize Paper session will be at 9am and then we will be holding plenary session on the Role of Surgery in Palliative Care, our annual EDI session, followed by a look at Upper GI Surgery across the UK. The meeting will then finish at 13:00 with the AUGIS Annual Scientific Meeting Prize Giving.
