Bariatric Surgery - an Introduction for AHPs

This session is intended to serve as an introduction to Bariatric Surgery for all AHPs, who may not have experienced or learnt about weight loss surgery in their Upper GI careers so far. It is planned as an informal roundtable session with experienced chairs and AHPs who will discuss the roles and opportunities that AHPs can take up in bariatric surgery and to describe common conditions, complications and algorithms for management. As bariatric surgery increases in frequency and availability, all Upper GI AHPs are increasingly going to be faced with patients who want or have had bariatric surgery and understanding key concepts and knowledge about the field will be valuable to all Upper GI AHPs.
